Who i am

Ciao!

I’m Riste — your local wine expert in the beautiful hills of Piemonte, Italy.

I know what you're thinking — “That name doesn’t sound Italian!”

And you're right. I was born in another country where wine has always been part of everyday life. My family owned a few small vineyards, and I have vivid memories of helping harvest grapes every year — one of our most cherished family traditions.

I grew up playing under the pergola of vines in our backyard, watching my grandfather craft homemade wine, spirits, and vinegar. It wasn’t just a passion — it was part of who we were.

After moving to Italy nearly 20 years ago, I found myself right in the heart of one of the most famous wine regions in the world: Langhe, home of Barolo, Barbaresco, and many hidden gems.

When the time came to choose a high school, the decision was easy. I enrolled at the prestigious Scuola Enologica in Alba — a historical winemaking school known across Italy. I spent 6 years there, diving deep into the science and art behind every glass of wine.

Since graduating, I’ve worked across every corner of the wine industry:

  • As a winemaker in wineries

  • As a sommelier in wine shops

  • As a sales rep, representing over 200 wineries

  • And finally, as a private sommelier, I’ve led more than 1,000 wine tastings and wine tours in just the past few years

I’ve also earned my Sommelier certification from the Associazione Italiana Sommelier, and I’m currently advancing my studies with the WSET Diploma in Burgundy — one of the world’s most respected wine qualifications.

Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned wine lover, I’d love to help you experience wine in the most authentic, fun, and insightful way — right here in the region I’m proud to call home.

Let’s raise a glass together!
